Here at Nocatee, we are committed to making the best of these unprecedented times. With an emphasis on staying home and social-distancing, families throughout the community are looking for ways to safely exercise and keep the kids entertained. Fortunately, opportunities for outdoor recreation and fitness are plentiful at the master-planned community.

Here are a some of Nocatee residents' favorite ways to keep active while quarantined:

Run, Walk, Bike (6 Feet Apart) Greenway Trails

Nocatee’s extensive Greenway Trailsoffers residents the chance to enjoy the natural landscape and observe nature. Along the trails, marked overlooks provide resting spots with beautiful vistas as the wind through extraordinary scenery in this natural paradise. These multi-use paths are designed for biking, walking, running or EV's (electric-vehicles). Runners that want to track their mileage reference Nocatee's Fitness Trails Map. Mapped routes range from 1 mile to 6.4 miles.

Not far from these paved trails is the 2,400 acre Nocatee Preserve that stretches 3.5 miles of the Intracoastal Waterway. Those looking for a more "off-road" trail running or riding experience have an 8 mile trail to explore in and around these preserved lands.

Kid-Friendly Outdoor Activities

With the kids out of school, now's a great time to introduce new and creative ways to keep them entertained. Here are some ideas for outside family fun:

Scavenger Hunts -  Whether it's staying in your backyard, or hopping on the golf cart, there are plenty of plants and animals to see around NocateeKid and Dog

Sidewalk Chalk - We could all use a little cheering up. Get the whole family outside and create an encouraging picture or message for all who might pass by.

Walk the Dog- Although this may already be a daily routine for most animal-lovers, try getting the kids involved. After all, they promised they would walk the dog, right?

Driveway PE- A great way for the kids to get their energy out and see their friends, all while still practicing social distancing! Have each household stay in their own driveway while the whole street does a PE lesson. Jumping jacks, bur-pees, jump rope, and hop scotch are just a few exercises you can try.

Watersports

The Nocatee Kayak & Paddle Sports Launch is one of the community's "built by nature" amenities, perfect for residents craving adventure! The launch is located at the base of the Nocatee Parkway, on the west side of the Intracoastal Waterway. On-site parking makes it convenient for residents and locals alike to easily launch their kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, and canoes (any non-motorized paddle sports equipment).481516becb24arhonda_kayaking_intracoastal

  • The newest outdoor recreational amenity is the Nocatee Landing. Here, outdoor enthusiasts are able to launch non-motorized water vehicles and explore the local waterways. It also features an open-air pavilion with stunning views of the scenic Tolomato River, ample parking and restrooms. Located just north of the new Crosswater collection of neighborhoods.
