A new K-12 educational offering is now open in Nocatee. Acton Academy Ponte Vedra has officially opened the doors to its new permanent campus at 680 Crosswater Parkway in Nocatee Town Center.
After spending its first three years in a shared space within the Nocatee community, Acton Academy Ponte Vedra now has a campus of its own, designed to serve its growing community of learners and families.
Founded by Nocatee resident and father Matt Ahrnsbrak, Acton Academy Ponte Vedra offers a learner-driven approach to education centered on independence, curiosity, character and real-world learning.
“I started Acton Academy Ponte Vedra because, first and foremost, I was a parent looking for the right education for my own daughter,” said Ahrnsbrak. “I wanted a place that would recognize how capable she was, challenge her to think for herself, and prepare her not just to succeed academically, but to take ownership of her life.”
The new campus serves students from kindergarten through 12th grade in mixed-age studios designed to encourage collaboration, independence and hands-on learning. Students build academic foundations through self-paced Core Skills while participating in Socratic discussions, collaborative Quests, real-world challenges and entrepreneurial experiences.
Entrepreneurship also plays an important role in the Acton model. Learners have opportunities to identify problems, develop solutions, launch businesses, manage real money, pitch ideas and learn from both successes and failures.
“Our mission isn't to fill children with information or simply prepare them for the next academic milestone,” said Bri Sprague-Triplett, Head of School at Acton Academy Ponte Vedra. “We are asking a much bigger question: Who is this young person becoming?”
The opening of the Crosswater Parkway campus marks a new chapter for Acton Academy Ponte Vedra and adds another educational option for families in Nocatee and throughout Northeast Florida.
